2008 Schedule of Events

The Essence of Motown
Literary Jam

November 6th 2008 - November
9th 2008

DUE TO LOW SPONSORSHIP THIS YEAR ALL EVENTS HELD AT THE DETROIT RIVERSIDE HOTEL HAVE BEEN CANCELED AND WCCCD HAS DECIDED NOT TO ASSIST US EITHER BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THE VENUE WOULD REFLECT NEGATIVELY TO THEIR ORGANIZATION. (Their words not mine).

THURSDAYS EVENT WILL BE SCHEDULED AT THE SAME TIME BUT AT ANEW LOCATION AND FRIDAYS AWARDS DINNER HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY.

SATURDAYS EVENT HAS BEEN RE-LOCATED WITH VARIOUS TIMES AND WE REALLY APOLOGIZE FOR THIS.
PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OFTHIS CHANGE IN VENUE AND SCHEDULE TIMES!

Please do not view this as mis-management, mis-organizationor such, but as your chairperson making it happen no matter what happens. We appreciate your kind words of encouragement and offers of assistance in this matter.

PLEASE VIEW THE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR MORE DETAILEDINFORMATION

2008 Conference Special Events

During the 2008 5th Annual Essence of Motown Literary Jam, many authors,
organizations and publishers are having their events coincide with the
conference.

For instance:

1. Raising Donations for Journals and AA children books for Detroit Public School Children

The Motown Literary Network is calling for readers and writers to
help. Our focus is to help Metro Detroit schools with supplies and much needed
supplies that teachers are asking for. From October through November we are
giving part of the proceeds that are giving to our literary conference on
November 6 through 9th (http://essenceofmotown.com) to assist different schools with different needs. For Example, check out Carlton Middle School's page: http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=188036&verify=-2142389663&zone=212

Help us Give! Be apart apart of the solution to better our literary community!

Our new book will be officially launched at the 5th Annual
Essence of Motown Literary Jam Weekend (Nov. 6-9, 2008) in Detroit, Michigan (http://essenceofmotown.com/)
As a special thank-you to everyone who comes out for this event, we’ll include a
FREE best-of-Authors Access CD-ROM jam-packed with MP3 files from all our shows
for each person who buys a book at this event.
